Anemones cover the surface completely — layered, overlapping, pressed so close together the form beneath them nearly disappears. The glaze is matte white where the petals crest, deepening to soft grey-blue where it settles into the spaces between, the way morning light sits differently in shadow than in the open. The silhouette is classical, globular, pedestal-footed; the surface is anything but.
Substantial in hand, it was made to hold the largest bouquets without apology — peonies, garden roses, branches — the kind of arrangement the vase itself seems to be asking for.
