Low, rounded, and wrapped in a lattice of hand-applied branches, this openwork bowl is built to overflow. The porcelain has been worked by hand into a tangle of twigs and tendrils that climb the vessel's sides and break past its rim — so that whatever you place inside seems to spill from a living thing.
Fill it with peonies and the flowers tumble outward, held in a nest of porcelain. Leave it empty and the branchwork becomes the subject — a study in line and shadow, sculptural enough to hold a quiet corner on its own.
Finished in a soft celadon glaze that pools in the recesses and pales across the high points, lending the surface depth and movement. A piece that turns a handful of stems into a still life.
One of a kind. 4"H × 5"W. Porcelain, watertight.
