Moonlight falls across open water, laying a pale path from the horizon to the shore. The sea holds the light rather than reflecting it, dark and still beneath a sky that has not quite given up the day. It is the ocean at its most private hour, when the color has drained to silver and blue and the only movement is the slow pull of the tide.

Painted in oil on canvas, the surface is built through layered passes that let the light sit low and luminous against the dark. The restraint is deliberate — the original holds its depth in person, revealing the quiet gradations that carry the hour.
